Quick Trip to the Ancestral Stomping Grounds

So Aaron and I made a really fast trip out to Wisconsin to see my cousin, Andy tie the knot.
We left the airport at 5:34 in the morning, the day after Kiera graduated.
It was a Friday.  The wedding was Saturday, and we flew back Sunday morning.
Aaron has never been to Wisconsin, so it was fun to take him there.

On the plane!  I'm so not a fan of flying.

Aaron has always dreamed of going to the museum in Oshkosh.  So, since it was almost on the way, we drove through and stopped.  I think Aaron could have spent the rest of the day there.

Another little side trip we made was off to find the church where my grandpa was christened in 1880. I had already discovered that it was now a house, but we found it and saw it in person.
Afterwards, we headed east a bit further so Aaron could see Lake Michigan.

One of my favorite places is just down the road at the cemetery.  I think I must be related to at least half the people buried here. At least the older ones.  This is the grave of my great-grandparents who immigrated to Wisconsin from Germany.

Finally Graduated!

I'm still not believing that our second child has now graduated from high school.
The whole day was such a blur and went by so fast.
We are so proud of Kiera and all her accomplishments in high school.
Now she will be leaving this fall for college and bigger and better things!

A shot of her walking into the events center

Just after her name was announced.

The moment that the graduates threw their caps in the air.

Then came the onslaught of pictures and people outside after graduation.

And the First Shall be Last

One day, Kiera came home from school with a bunch of balloons
-they were already popped -
and announced that she had been asked to the Red and White dance at the high school.
I quickly asked, "by whom?" and her reply, "I'm not sure yet!"
She had figured that the balloons would have letters in them that she would unscramble to spell a name, but instead, they contained scripture references.

In reviewing each and every scripture listed,
we noticed that they all had to do with the "first" and the "last".
With a little bit of thinking,
we decided that it was the same person who asked her to her first red and white dance.
It's hard to believe that those two years have already passed by.

Another Teenager!?!

I now have THREE teenagers living in my house!

I can't believe that my youngest child is 13, but it is true.
Shenna made his cake. It has suspenders and a bow tie on since they are Enoch's favorite thing to wear lately.
I'm not doing very well at the picture-taking thing and only got these three.
As for his presents, most of them involved one of his obsessions:
Doctor Who.
I told Enoch that he can choose to be a good teenager, and I'm sure he will.

Someone in our house is 18

Kiera had a birthday, and turned 18! Shenna made the cake with a floral design, which Kiera loved.

All those candles were hard to fit on the cake, and she had to blow them out fast so they wouldn't start melting the frosting and dripping wax everywhere.

She received some fun presents from everyone, and now she is officially an adult!

Could this post be about ...SOCCER?

Just a short post to say that yes, Enoch is playing soccer still.  I hate spring soccer because the weather is so unpredictable. This time, we played many games in the rain and wind.  But, the kid seems to enjoy it no matter what the temperature.

.

He will play one more year with this team, then he will be able to try out for the freshman high school team.  He wants to actually play on two different leagues in the fall.  We'll see how that works out.
