Saying Goodbye is Never Easy

Kiera entered the MTC in Provo June 14.  We stopped by Grandma Karen's and Grandpa Jim's on the way down so she could say goodbye to them (don't forget Meeko and Sierra), then it was our turn.
We went to the temple lawn across the street and took some pictures together.  We had some fun moments as well, when Enoch tried to pick her up and dropped her.  Sam succeeded though.
Good Luck Sweetheart!

Montana!

Because school got out before Memorial Day this year, I was able to take the girls up to Montana to visit for the long weekend.  Of course, the Montana trip wouldn't be complete without Lynae and Kris as well. Most of the time was spent in Deer Lodge with relatives, but we also went shopping for a day in Helena; my favorite capital city.

Grandpa Wahl was a mason, but I had never noticed this awesome door before!

Beautiful views on the way to Helena.

Grant-Kohrs Historical Ranch....my childhood hangout.  I was here so much, I could probably give the tours myself.

Raymond Hansen Family Reunion 2017

Held at Tammie and Brett Belliston's house.
Maralee and Tammie did an awesome job planning and hosting!
Thank you so much!

Is there a Fourteen year old in the house????

I find it impossible that my "baby boy" is fourteen, but yet, it's true!

His birthday was pretty low key.  Shenna made his cake and she was pretty excited for him to cut into it!  See bottom pic for the reason why.....yum yum!

Red and White Dance

Sam went to the Red and White dance at the high school this year.
He went with a good friend of his, Allison.

Not extremely thrilled to have his mom take his picture before he left to pick up the date.

He humored me and brought the date by our house so I could get some pictures.

I stole this picture from social media.  It was taken at the dance and they are so much more relaxed then when I was taking pictures...what????

Forever Futbol....or the Spring Soccer Post

Enoch has really loved playing on this team for the past couple of years.  This year was no exception.  He generally played striker and was the back-up keeper.  He ended up being the 3rd highest scorer in the league for spring, which we thought was a great accomplishment given the fact that he played goalie half the time!

At the end of the season, the team was undefeated!

playing keeper.  Only had one injury this year when his jaw came in contact with another boy's head.

A Different Sport of Spring

Usually when I talk sports, it's all about soccer and Enoch.
That all changed this year when Sam was forced  decided to play waterpolo.
Let's just say that I have learned so much about the sport of waterpolo in the last few months...
mainly that it is one of the hardest sports out there, and I'm not kidding!

Think you can tread water endlessly only using your legs and at times-during practice-doing it while holding a chair or a weight above your head? Then water polo is the sport for you!

The first few weeks of practice, Sam would come home looking like death warmed over.
However, he kept getting better and better and with hard work was not only able to play with the JV team, but with the varsity team as well.

Another thing I learned is that it is very hard to take good pictures during a waterpolo match.

Mission Bound!

We always knew this day was coming.  Kiera has always talked about serving a mission.
Well, she submitted her papers and the call arrived.
As a family we drove down to college so she could open it.
It was definitely exciting.

Lots of people put their guesses all over the globe, but when the call was opened, Detroit Michigan is where she will be serving!

Spring Break and Universal Studios

Took the kids to Universal Studios for Kiera's Spring Break from College.  Aaron's sister Suzanne came along and we were so happy to have her with us!
Two were brave enough for swim suits

Ollivander's makes the best wands.  Everyone should have one.

Spent a lot of time and money in this shop.  Honeydukes!

Harry Potter was the main attraction with 2 Slytherins, 2 Gryffindors, 2 Hufflepuffs and 1 Ravenclaw.
