Commuting for Fun!

Finally with the play over, we've had some time to do some OTHER things together. We decided to take the train into the city to see some of the Christmas lights during the holidays. The train is such a fun way to go! I love it because we don't have to worry about parking, driving in the bad weather, or the traffic. The kids love it because it is just plain fun!The lights were absolutely beautiful...as always. You can see from the above picture that Shenna doesn't have very much more growing to do in order to be as tall as me. I'm just dreading the day she is taller! Doesn't this look like fun? The kids had a blast. I'm never sure what the regular commuters think of my bunch of boistrous kids on the train with them. All the suits and briefcases next to the bionicles is quite the sight. This time at least the boys stayed in the same seats the whole trip instead of trying all the vacant seats in the train car out at various intervals. All in all, it was an entertaining and stress-free commute to the big city!

The plane takes to the air

Well, after two years of building, the kitfox has finally reached the skies! Aaron and Daryl were at the airport around 10:00 a.m. and it finally lifted off at around 2 p.m. The sky was clear and the wind was calm. Unfortunately, it was quite chilly and though my camera said the battery had 60 minutes of recording time left, it started malfuntioning in the freezing cold. I was able to capture some of his low fly-by, but not all of it and decided there was no reason for me to stay later, as I had no camera to tape the landing. So, here it is; a short video of the first flight!
