This past week was the annual choir foundations concert for the high school. For this concert, a guest conductor is invited and the students practice for the entire day with that conductor in order to perform in the evening. What makes this concert fun, is that the choirs from our high school are combined with the choirs from the rival high school 20 minutes to the south.
As a bit of a backstory for those who may not know,
Aaron was a student at that "rival" high school, while I attended the same one my kids do now.
We always have a bit of fun with the rivalry.
Anyway, After some of the groups had performed separately, it was time for all the students to get on stage for the main concert event.
We had already seen Shenna perform with the madrigals, but hadn't seen Kiera yet.
As all the choir members were gathering on the stage,
we looked and looked for her amongst the white-and-red robed students.
No Kiera.
Just as I started to get worried, Aaron proclaimed to have found her on the risers.
However, something was wrong.
She was wearing a purple robe! A robe in the rival's colors.
Before I could come to any concrete conclusions of why she would be wearing purple,
It was announced that some of the students had decided to switch robes with each other
after having such a fun day together.
We were proud of Kiera for joining in the show of friendship between rival schools.
And of course, Aaron was thrilled to see her in his high school color!
And what of Shenna? She couldn't switch because in madrigals, they don't wear the robes, but dresses. She said she would of if she could of.
