Sanpete Here We Come!

We took a quick trip last weekend to Manti to see the Mormon Miracle Pageant. 

The kids have never seen it, and we've been trying to take them for years.

This year I decided we weren't going to let anything stand in our way!

They've built a really pretty park across from the temple.  We stopped by to see it on our way out of town.

 Also on our way out of Sanpete, we stopped by our old stomping grounds of Snow College. 

It  was amazing to walk around and see all the changes that they've been making. 

We had two thoughts while there. 

1.  Wow!  Everything is so nice  - in a way, we are jealous of what they have. 

2.  Wow!  I can't believe that we had so little to work with when we were here. -we are so jealous!

Shenna will most likely be going here after she graduates. 

That is what she is planning right now anyway. 

So, we may be making a few more trips this direction in the next few years!

The Culinary Arts

I thought I'd post some pictures of Kiera's little cupcake creations. 

They're mini watermelons....aren't they cute?

School's OUT for Summer!

I couldn't remember if I took pictures of the kids on the first day of school,

so just to annoy them,

 I made sure I took pictures of the boys on the last day of school at the bus stop. 

There are a bunch of kids that get on in the same place. 

 At our last house it was more convenient because the kids

got picked up right in front of our driveway. 

Here, they must walk a quarter mile to get on. 

 It's better than having to carpool all the way into town though,

so I guess I shouldn't complain.

 Our elementary school bus is driven by "HAL".  I think this man must have the patience of Job.

The kids really do like him as a bus driver, and I think he may actually like the kids..most of the time.

He knows all the kids names and birthdays- which really impresses me.

He also brings cans of pop for all the kids on the last day of school each year.

The best tradition of all is for the 5th graders.  Hal throws a party at a local park for all the 5th graders on his bus after the school year is over.  It is a farewell party of sorts since those kids won't be riding his bus next year. 

Samuel really looked forward to the party which also includes great food!

1st Place Win!

Every time I have a 5th grader, there is one event I dread.

 Throughout the year....The annual Science Fair!

This year was no exception. 

 But all Sam's hard work paid off when he came home with the First Place Ribbon!

The idea for his project stemmed from me making Enoch a cold lunch every day.

I've always wondered how cold we were keeping his lunch at school.

Sam decided to answer that question with his project.



I know you are all dying to know the results.

The answer we discovered was that in reality, we are not keeping the lunches cold enough

to prevent bacteria growth.

It was a good thing to learn!
