The Winter Whitaker Olympics 2014!

Every two years it happens.
The Olympic games take control in our house.
This year with the Sochi Winter Games, we had our traditional family competition.
The basic rules are as follows:
Every morning we look at the medal events coming up for the day.
We pick our winners from the list of athletes.
We watch the prime time coverage of the games.
We pray for their success.
We scream and jump up and down in front of the television.
If they win gold, we get 9 points. silver, 6 points and bronze, 3 points.
I tally the points on the white board.
Here are the 2014 winter results...

For fun, we also had a "little" competition going over our ancestor's homelands.
I guess if I lose in points, at least my heritage countries dominated!
Way to go Norway! And Germany! And Switzerland!

The last winter games, Samuel came out the gold medal winner.
You can read about that here.
And this year, he did it again!  So he is now the two-time gold medalist in our house.
Not sure how he does it!
Aaron and Enoch tied for silver, and we also had a tie between Shenna and Kiera for bronze.

And yes, the medals are just canning jar lids, but behind them are gift cards to their favorite stores!
Lowes, Amazon, and I-tunes!
Congratulations to all the winners!
And I must say, it's a good thing that I don't gamble!
