4th of July Festivities

With Enoch being so involved in soccer, the other kids get dragged to a lot soccer-related activities.
Needless to say,
when I recently saw a poster advertising the Corps Encore competition,
I jumped at the chance to "drag" Enoch to something the other kids might enjoy.
(Shenna was gone that week, so these activities were done without her.)

What is Core Encore?
Every summer, a variety of competitive junior drum and bugle corps from all over North America stop in our state on their national tours in preparation for the DCI World Championships.
They do their entire field show for the crowd,
and since I have a few kids who are in the marching band and some
that may be in the near future, off we went for some fun July 3rd.

Kiera especially enjoyed seeing all of the mellophones.  She was amazed at the numbers they had in each band.
just in case you were wondering what a mellophone looks like.  This is what Kiera plays in marching band.

The next morning it was off to the park to enjoy breakfast and more fun with the family!

Aldena - Kiera's friend with our extend family;  Holli and Jonathon Curtis with their dog, Minnie
 Brynne, Taci and Julianne Hansen

My sister Lynae and husband David

my brother Daryl and wife Julianne

Samuel and Enoch decided that it would be fun to be INSIDE the dunk tank this year!

Jarom doesn't look too thrilled to have two sopping wet cousins on either side of him does he!

We finished off the night with the kids doing fireworks outside.

We enjoyed the day, and we feel especially blessed to be able to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy with some of the people we love!
